I was thinking of using 15T/48 gearing on my XT8. I got OS 28XZ which should have more than enough power and I have JP-1 pipe which is low-mid pipe. Has anyone run this type of a setup? Powerful .28 engine and 15T CB? It should calm down the bottom end, but still have enough power because of the pipe and powerful engine. Straight line speed would be insane I hope ![]() |

DUDE! One of those O.S. 28's would be PERFECT with a 15! Those things have insane rip. The only one I've seen run, the guy couldn't get back on the throttle because it would just spin the tires. He bought it, ran it one race and gave it away because it was too much power. (And this guy drives punched out of his mind, always wanting more power........) |

Hi guy's first post here. lauri I have an OS 28 in my XT8 and I run a 15T clutchbell with no problems. I also run the extra head shim and the 7mm carby restricter and I have a JP-2 pipe and this thing still has plenty of punch. The track I race on is an open track. I hope this helps. ![]() |

Hello Eric, About time you made a post on this forum! 15 tooth bell. Hmmm... I wondered why your OS was smooth and ultra quick down the straight. You won last club meet so I'm getting one. ![]() Are you running the X ray bells or Team Magic? I let the XRay community know that all 5 XT8 drivers are running the Hong Nor Super Big Bores and now the 2 Mugen drivers are running them and we are all very happy. Dave bought my spare set to put on his new Moogen which is being track released for the second round of the 240 truggy series in Bendigo. The truggy racing was already competitive in Melbourne - I think it just got tougher. Dave was awesome in the last round running a borrowed losi 8ight T. Are you going next weekend? 4 X 20 min heats - it was the most enjoyable race day I've ever had. See you Sunday. |

I think you will be Happy with the 15T bell. You could go to the JP-2 pipe which will give more mid to high torque. 16T might be pushing it a bit specially if you need some punch coming out of a corner for a jump. |
