1 up front and 1 down rear gives you a neutral roll center as the over pi height is 0. +1 -1=0. Therefore, it's not a high roll center or a low roll center for that matter. If you want to raise your roll center to make your car easier to drive (lower the upper arms try may set up which is 0 front and -1 rear with the eccentric bushings. 0 - 1=-1. divide by 2 and the average height is neg 0.5. What ever you eccentrics are with your kick up mirror this with your roll center. Adjust your roll center slightly different, as per above, to achieve a higher or lower roll center. Initially I thought run the upper arm flat and either high or low ie -1 front and -1 rear but due to my kick up angle it causes binding. Understand that you don't have much option with a high or low front roll center because you kick up dictates it. Good luck |

It certainly does, this must be why some pro drivers used rear arms on the front. Noticed the 808 runs it this way too. |

The losi I has was like that. The Mugen and Hong Nor/Jammin run he same set up as the X Ray. I think the current set up must give more stability and strength to the front end. It probably explains for part of the reason why the losi front end had sooo much slop in it. The other option would be ream out the upper arms so you can run whatever roll center you like with out binding. Hudy make an arm reamer and I wondered what it was for..... I'm happy with the way it is though. |
