Thanks for the reply bren Didnt really wont to go down the metal servo horn route as it just moves the problem to another item, most probably the servo & the most expensive item on the steering to replace. may try futaba servo horns to see if the can last a bit longer or a stronger servo & metal servo horn. Thanks Sean. |

Hi chaps, I've been running my XT8 at the Frankley track all Winter on their Astrotrack using the Futaba BLS351 15Kg Servo with the Stock Xray horn and 2mm of tension on the servo saver, to date I've not had a problem with the horn stripping the spine! Just a question ( may seems a little stupid ) but what screw do you use to attach the horn to the servo? I ask because the stock supplied screw with the Futaba servos has a head that's too small ( in my opinion ) I used a flanged head 3mm screw and as I've said had no problem with either the servos or the horns! This might be your problem, the horn is flexing on the spline and stripping that way! Might be right, might be wrong, just thoughts to ponder |

I use Multiplex servo. The Xray horn, don't remember if it was H, F or K, was stripped right away ![]() |

I have that problem on the XT8 using Futaba BLS servos. Make sure the EPAs and servo saver tension are set right. However considering a alu horn for safety, when I find a nice one. |

I got Asso / ACE / Thunder Tiger DS1015 today but I'm very disturbed about the horn issue. I have Ultimate Racing Futaba horns and Xray F-horns. They both fit on the servo but are very loose. Is this okay? I've never had horn fit on the servo so easy and loose. Kinda seems so that the servo wants to have a metal horn or... Quite many of you use DS1015 but with what horns? Do the Xray F-horns work? I don't have any Asso / ACE / Thunder Tiger original horns unfortunately. I will receive BLS351 in a week and use it for steering then I wanna use the DS1015 for gas/brake and then I have to use the loosely fitting Xray F-horn. |
