hey all wen replacing the piston and sleave in a motor wot else should i do as my ws7 3 has had 6 L through it and yester day i lft it at bottom dead center and tried to pull the back plate off and took a chunk out off the piston. and aslo it need to be runin again |

Well, sounds like you going to need a new piston, sleeve, and rod (I ALWAYS replace these as a unit). You can't run it like it is now because it will sound like a 4 stroke and have VERY poor performance. ALWAYS keep the piston up top so that the skirt on the piston will clear the backing plate. I know the feeling, I've made that costly mistake as well |

no worrys thanks i am about to order a set off amain, is there much differance between the CEO modded one and the standard one. yer and it sounds like craplol thanks Dan |

your not on your now mate. I have done it before!!!!! I just replaced the Piston, sleve, con rod and thats it. Good luck! Cheers, Jono |

I have never heard about this which sort of scares me. I cant really have the piston up top if the pinch is still tight and I havent had a problem yet with this on any of my engines. I know you cant get the back plate on if the piston is all the way down since the cut out in the back place for the skirt on the piston is up toward the top of it. I never worried about its position when taking the plate off but I recall having to roll it up a bit to get the plate back on. |
