Hello, Just wanted some help with a problem I have with my V-Spec. I have been running V-Specs for years now. I have never had a bearing go bad or a case crack until now. I have heard that the engine was redesigned. Please give me your feedback. I am deciding on whether to go with RB from here out. Thanks in advance, Rob Knasel South Vienna, OH |

I would much rather have a $300+ engine that lasts 2x as long then a $250 one that lasts half as long. My werks B7 Pro is so darn fast I cant use more then 1/2 throttle at the track or it will take flight and thats with the restrictor in and on a JP3 pipe which helped calm it down compared to the werks pipe. 2 gallons on my B7 pro and still cant roll the flywheel by hand but that is largely due to me heating the head each and every start. If it keeps going strong it will be purchased again. |

I haven't seen too many issues with the newer OS crankcases. But the wrong mount would most definately put more strain on it. It's almost like putting the crankcase fins in a vise. Maybe you can pickup a used crankcase cheap somewhere and finsih out your 3 gallons. At least that's what I hear they are good for in terms of wear. I have witnessed an RB C6 run for 8+ gallons. My P5X also ran for 8+ before I got dirt in it by accident. But the newer Nova's don't seem as well built IMO. Rod's went very fast in 2 21-5's and 1 21-7 that I owned. Slop in the main bearings of the new Nova's seem more prevalant now as well. Radical Engines currently have my vote of confidence. Just with they would get on the ball and stock the hobby shops! |
