I think the only head that makes a difference worth the money is one of those magnesium heads... Other than that, you may see -10* F... |

If the engine gets a little extra cooling, it can be tunned slightly leaner, but its marginal. Many cooling heads are heavier also. They look very nice though. |

Can you also state which tuning head? I've had bad experience with a nova, it ran cooler with the stock head. The magnesium head on the other hand cools less, but is a lot lighter. I'd only use it in cold temps though. |

But you have to find that mix between temp and running too lean and having the motor bog because its not getting enough fuel... Stick the with stock cooling head (no offense to any aftermarket cooling head manufacturers that may read this!) because any high end motor (nova rossi, OS, RB, etc.) make their heads like that because their testing may have shown those to be the optimum design between function and design... |
