OK that probally got your attention and lets see how many views this post gets. For good reason, the post on the XT8 just dont begin to hold up. So lets break out the check book or EUROs and make a mold for a V2 body post set for the XT8. I promise I will buy one. Please no post about how to modify the post to make them work. Already done that , want the right part the right way. Are we testing this stuff first? Stop making rainbow colored setup boards and stay with basics. The stuff that has made XRAY great the company that I am amazed by there engineering excellence. Lets get the R&D shop up to speed. Send it to me I will tell you whats wrong before you send it to the press.

Honestly, I think the moded posts are the way they should be made. With an upper and lower screw to hold it in place.

Mine is rock solid now. Only other suggestion would be to make them alum or alum re-inforced so they are fool proof on cold winter races.

I don't have a photo, but here's what I did...

Drill all the way through the screw hole and use a longer screw with a lock nut on the back (Some people use a washer, but I haven't found the need to). Cut off the little 'nipple' that locates into the shock tower and drill through, making sure it's parallel with the other screw hole. I couldn't fit another screw in there as the head interfered with the other one, so used a long grub screw (the one used with the ball ends on the roll bars), and screwed it in until it was flush with the front of the tower.

Hope that helps!

I broke mine twice in the first day out with the XT8. Did the mod same as above....7 races later still perfectly fine.
