Post subject: | Clutch Bell on Picco? |
I recently blew out my clutch bearings on my buggy. Now I am trying to figure out which replacement bell I should get? I have an OFNA 13T but there is a bunch of play on the front of the bell. I am running a Jammin JPX .21 Yes, I tried shimming it but it doesn't do much. The bearing and the crank do not match up like their even close to flush, I have to use all of them on the front and their is still play. What clutch bell do I need so it all fits right? Also, If I'm not clear, please let me know. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks |

So you have to shim a bunch in front of the CB but there is still too much gap? Sounds like you need to try a thicker colet which is that brass cone looking thing right up against the front bearing on the motor. This will push everything forward a bit so you can use less shims at the front of the CB. Also be sure ou have 1 thin shim on the clutch nut so the inner CB bearing isnt touching it directly. PS CB bearings dont last long from what I noticed so replace them often. I reoil mine after each race to inspect and service them and typically after just 2 races one feels gritty no mater how clean it is. If I pushed it then it would fail as well so just toss them and start over every other race to be safe. |
