Thanks for the help. As I was putting the shock back together I noticed that the platic washer that holds the o rings at the bottom of the shock is not sitting properly because it goes past the retaining clip. I tried to bend the clip but then it does not go into the grove on the shock. Has anyone had this problem |

It doesnt look like those clips hold the shims in place but they do. Mine look the same way and its almost looks like the shims isnt held in place at all but they are so no worries. If you didnt have a leak then some coloration of the oil is normal. I change my diffs and shocks every other race to new oil and keep some Mobil 1 grease on all the O-rings so they wont pinch or bind then leak. |

With the plastic washer not sitting correctly it binds the shaft alittle I noticed this because after I put the shocks back togethere I make sure that the rod pushes out a little when I push it in. when the washer is cocked the rod wont push back. |
