the laser raytek's are good. mine was like $300AU 7 years ago and still going strong. they're accurate enough to temp the head, button, and glow plug depending how good an aim you are. Mine gives me the same reading 2ft away from the head as it does 2cm away if i can hit the same spot twice. Just make sure you temp the exact same spot every time, coz if you get the plug itself, your reading will be like 20 deg C higher then the head/button itself. Don't rely on temps when tuning for performance tho. tune for smoke and sound. on most race engines, they're still happy at 120-140c as long as there is enough fuel getting in there to lube it. |
