What do you guys recommend for a reliable digital throttle servo for my xt8? I have a Hitec 5996TG which burnt up in 4month of use ![]() |

I am using the Ace digital servo and I bought it after reading and hearing so many good things about them. The tech support at Amain swears by them and say they last a long time. One guy I talked to said 30+ gallons then he changed it out for an updated model but it still worked fine. Maybe 111 oz torque isnt enough for constantly applying brakes and throttle but the Ace is 200 torque with the same .10 transit speed. You will have to dremel and dink with the included Ace horns to get them to work but once you get it they are perfect. I had to shim the horn up on the servo splines and dremel a bit. I took some pics that are on here if you just do a search under my name. |

No heat sync on those from what I see and if you read the reviews on Amain a guy that has Ace and that JR prefers Ace. Also I have heard there is such thing as too fast for throttle and it can choke up the carb. In the reviews they guy said he had to turn the speed down most likely for that reason. I guess there are always choices but what I was looking at is the Hitec 5955 which I had in a Revo but the Robotics version can take 7.4v for Lipos with no regulator. That would be cool enough to make me consider a change if my regulator ever gives me problems. What are you using for your steering? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_rev ... ts_id/3826 |
