| Post subject: | Engine bearings |
Does anybody know where I could find ceramic bearings for a max m5b. This is my third max motor,but for some reason I got through 2 events and the rear bearing is extremely worn. Maybe 1.5 gallons with break in. |

The first/second run of P5's had questionable rear bearings and I didnt know where Maxpower ended up on those batches, so thats one of the reasons why I swapped mine out after break-in. Better safe than sorry on a spendy motor. Some guys had good luck with the stockers and some didnt. EB mods is in the process of creating a specific pipe for the V-spec. Better bottom and mid, with smooth power on the top. So you V-spec owners, hold on to your hats. (and cash)

Is that Vspec from EB mods really a good buy and lasts a long time? As for the pipe I am scared of pipes after spending $100 for that Werks pipe and its trash after 2 days of newbie slow driving. I have a JP3 coming to me and am confident it will hold up much better based on what I have seen and heard. I hope my Werks holds up well but I dont want to change out bearings in an engine before it dies. I ideally want to buy an engine that I can just run and take care of until its done with out replacing things. Is it normal procedure to have to replace conrods and rear bearings as regular maintainence on any engine? |
