I am new to buggys and track racing. I just bought a xb8 ec and a hudy 1/8 scale setup (108805) and I am having trouble understanding the setup sheets on the JB setup there is no deg for toe on the rear and for spacers on the front it reads rear and it shows rear on the rear it reads rear but show front? can someone help |

thank you very much for the help but am still alittle confused with the spacers. I don't think I explainned myself correctly. If you look at the setup sheet the front spacer showes the spacer going in the rear of the arm or rear of that section and in the rear end of the car the spacer is in the front section of the rear but the setup sheet teels you to put them in the rear on both front and rear So do I go by the picture or what is printed?

Some of those sheets arent perfect and there are settings they dont list. But if you look at the box its not indicating anything its just a solid line so thats why you click front or rear in the check box. For the spacers at the rear I put 1 infront and 1 behind since both on a side made the driveline touch the hubs when the suspension was compressed. For the front there really arent any spacers just caster clips to take up the gaps in the hinge pin area. Set your caster and get your buggy all done then push it up and down a few times to settle the arms then use the appropriate amoutn of clips to fill the gaps. Be sure to not make the arms bind but not to have too much slop either. I sanded mine to get a perfect fit since no combo of the 1,2,3mm clips was bind free or tight enough. For the rear spacers both in front will extend the wheel base and both at the rear will shorten it but move weight over the rear tires for more traction. As I said with both spacers on one side or the other the driveline rub so you will have to play with it. I hope that helps. |
