I'm getting ready to buy the XT8 here very soon. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what things I need to complete the build on this? And what parts should I upgrade right away, if any?

I would suggest getting the *two piece engine mout. Also, perhaps the aluminum suspension holders to replace the e-clips and have the hingepins captured instead.

35 3085 ALU REAR BRACE 7075 T6 (5MM)
35 8712 ALU ADJ. ENGINE MOUNT - NOVAROSSI, RB, MAX, JP, SIRIO
35 8713 ALU ADJ. ENGINE MOUNT - PICCO, MEGA, ORION, LRP, OS

IMHO, the rear aluminum brace for sure and the above motor mount (two choices depending on what motor you run). i've eaten a few pinions and the only thing i can figure is chasis flex. so i'll be installing the alum rear brace. also i had to shim the pinion to diff mesh, it was a little tight. you'll see what i mean on page 11 of the manual. also me and my friend found best performance staying with the xray rims. i'm running j.b.'s setup and it rocks!! The truck is AWESOME!! You're gonna love it!
Good Luck!

Crash kit? Hmm, I have lower and upper front arms, turnbuckles, rear arms, spare fuel tank, assorted hinge pins, E clips, spare screws, bearings, etc. Only needed wing mounts, front body mounts, shock pistons/washers, and fuel tank (2) so far. Come to think of it, I haven't broken anything else on my TQ or EC in over a year, except for a wing mount.

Mugen start box.

As far as spare parts (crash kit?) . I have yet to break any of the kit plastic suspension pieces in 4 months. It's a quality truggy.

There is a problem if you are not careful when setting your suspension droop, you can break a lower shock piston washer from the shock bottoming out.

The body mounts can be ripped off if they are not reinforced. there is a fix for that under the "truggy general forum"

As far as general consumables are concerned: shock rebuild pieces, diff gaskets and rubber seals, clutch shoes and springs, clutch bell bearings.

The kit is metric so I would suggest a good set of tools if you don't already have those.

Dang looks like I went over board on spares then!

I have spare diffs, drivelines, bulk heads, and a few other things. I do only buy things on ebay when I score deals at half off eve if I dont need them since its too cheap to pass up. Like full diffs with bevel gears for $26 a set was a steal so I jumped on it.

All I think I will buy now is a set of front arms and the way they package them on ebay it could come with many other front suspension parts which would be cool.

Good to hear that these things are solid and I keep telling the Kyosho cheer leaders that and they dont believe me. They ask what spares I have and I tell them a few things and I still am bidding on ebay items but based on what I read here I tell them I wont need much.
