Those RB's can be a bugger to break in,,heat, heat and more heat is the key when they are new. 190-200 deg on the motor before you press it down on the start box The more you preheat before every run, the longer the engine will last. The glowplug takes a severe beating by metal particles during break in, so have a couple extra's. During break in and for the life of the motor, the piston should be rotated to BDC as quick as possible when the engine dies, to save from TDC piston stick and to extend the life of the motor Those Rody prerun motors are worth every penny in my book,,just to save the frustration of RB break in. Next RB motor I get will have the prerun on it if it is availible.

The RB's (as all motors) are set somewhat rich from the factory and that might lead to your hot re-start issues. Try leaning the high speed needle just a TINY bit, and slightly increase the carb slide gap with the throttle trigger, once it fires off, re-richen the needle back to its setting for the break in and keep it running by soft-blipping the throttle. Keep the heat gun on it because once it fires off it will tend to cool off with the rich idle settings If that doesent work you can step up 1 heat range on the plug to help things along. The hotter plug wont get doused out or cooled off so quickly with the rich factory settings. A hotter plug will advance the timing just a tick, and a colder plug will do the opposite.
