Post subject: | Two piece motor mount problems |
I got the two piece mount for my RB motor for the XT8, but when I try to tighten the screws, the mount still moves no matter how tight I make the screws. I'm talking about the screws in the bottom of the chassis. I can't screw them in anymore and I can still move the motor around with ease. Anyone know what could be the problem? |

The screws are just longer than they should be. Or at least that was in my case. |

I guess I'll dremel them down, I just didn't want to without confirmation. |

...or you can get shorter screws like what I did. ![]() |

The XT8 and EC chassis are thinner than the TQ chassis. I had no problem with the engine mount on the TQ, but with the screws fully tightened on the XT8 and EC, the entire engine mount still was loose. As stated above, either use shorter screws, dremel the existing screws, or use washers. |

i would discourage using a dremel. you will mess the threads up and you will ruin the threads in the soft alunimum mounts. screws are cheap the mount is not. |

I had the same issue yesterday when I installed the xray one piece mount...I used a washer on each screw and solved the issue. Also, does XRAY sell just the top blocks separately, so it can be used as a quick change motor mount like the KHZ one for other trucks? |
