Since the new EC has the engine moved to the rear more, is there a need to still run heavy diff oils like 5k or even 7k in the rear to lock the car in the back? I know that the majority used this tunning option on the XB8 and TQ but wouldnt it make sense to go down now to maybe 2k or 3 k in the rear diff? Thanks, BM |

For the start follow the basic set-up and read the Tech Tip in the Knowledge base where it is suggested to use lighter shock oils in the shocks or to modify the pistons to get 4 holes in the pistons and then to use the shock oils you have used with the XB8 or XB8TQ. Using the shims on the front lower suspension arms you can move the balance of the car to get similar balance to the XB8TQ. |

I don't think it would a big enough change to constitute a whole shift in diff oil range. I think that would come into play when going from a losi diff setup to our car, if you know what I mean. I'm running the Branham diff setup with 555 right now, I may go to 355, but I've always liked the stiffer heavier rear diff as they are easy to drive on power. |
