hello guys. After reading quite a lot of posts in this site and articles from other sites as well as the Xray tuning manual I picked and made a list of some tunings that can be done in order to fix some handling problems. I dont know if they are correct since I have never tried them I just copied them from various posts but I am sure there are a lot more other tunings that can be added to solve these issues. Please correct whatever is wrong and add whatever is missing. I think this will help guys like be that are newbies to this hobby Need More steering thinner or no front sway bar lower front roll center Less rear toe in lighter rear Diff reduce caster more rear droop more neg. front camber softer front springs less negative rear camber less downforce in the rear softer front shocks lighter front diff harder rear springs thicker rear swaybar more downforce in the front harder rear shocks less caster On-power steering lower front roll center(higher position of front upper arm) more front droop more caster more front toe in Oversteering shorten wheelbase lengthen rear camber link, try diff locations. try to "steer" into a corner, not turning the wheels to quickly increase rear toe in straighter rear shock mounting positions on shock tower lower rear ride hight increase rear camber softer rear springs stiffer front springs Thinner Rear swaybar Thicker front swaybar less negative front camber less positive rear camber less downforce in the front more downforce in the rear softer rear shocks stiffer front shocks lighter rear diff more rear traction more rear droop higher rear roll center (low holes on rear shocktower softer spring less rear camber (increase traction entering and in corners up to a point) Swaybars Smooth high grip conditions, thick sway bars FR and RR (say 3.0mm) Bumpy high grip conditions, mid range sway bars FR and RR (say 2.6mm) Low grip conditions (bumpy or smooth), light range sway bars FR and RR(2.4mm and lower). A nice thread about engine tuning |
