Since RC america distrubutes this engine, I was hoping someone could tell me the difference between these two engines. Does the M8 have a big bottom end like (I assume the M5 would)? Is one more ballistic than the other? |

The M8 is ballistic on the top end. Perfect for big long tracks, maybe even too much. The M5 is a torque monster perfect for the technical tracks. Either engine is great. It's all about the drivers preference. |

Does the M5 still have enough top end to handle itself on the big tracks? |

The Max M5 is a great motor. Plenty of power all around and good life you will enjoy. |

Hey, you brought up a good point, Does the M8 have the same long life as the M5 or is it longer? do team drivers prefer one over the other? I have decided, but I can easily be swayed from M5b to M8 |

The team drivers prefer the M5 over the M8. Both are good long lasting motors but I like the grunt bottom end the M5 has over the M8. If you are looking for the better all around motor in my opinion it would be the M5. |

Yeah, I would try bmainhobbies as well. It's just that when I look, it says they don't have it in their inventory. But it's worth a shot with them. Bought sum stuff from them and it went smooth and fast esp. if you live in the east coast. |
