If you need to ask this question, then i see no reason for you to spend money on the alu parts. More fuel and more fuel, thats the way for faster laptimes, nobody gives a rats ass if your car is made out of orion-cookie-fiber.

If it happens that you know whats the difference you want, then you are experienced racer enough to tell the answers yourself, and Xray has the option parts for your requirements.

After reading this forum quite a bit it seems (hopefully only seems) that people are just trying to upgrade their gear rather than their own driving. When they cant drive like others that may not have so fine equipment but have spent countless hours on the trackside, they start blaming their own "supposed to be finest" gear.

It's the driver that makes the race, the car is only his tool. And from what I've seen and experienced Xray is one smooth tool thats under development constantly.

Excellent answers from the previous posters. I couldn't agree more.

The hop-up parts / options that every manufacturer provide don't necessarily translate to general performance gains. While they might look cool and hi-tech, they can in fact make the handling worse if used inappropriately.

Switching to aluminum parts throughout increases the chassis stiffness, but that is actually a handicap on rutted tracks... And here is where Xray should be praised: they provide you the options, it's up to you to pick the best suited ones for your track and driving style.

If you're driving in a very beaten up track with small/medium jumps, you're better off using the nylon chassis braces with soft A-arms to make the car more forgiving. On the other hand, if your track is relatively smooth or has huge jumps, then using the aluminum parts and the beefy TQ arms might be advantageous...

In short, if you're happy with the car handling and believe that the extra stiffness won't bring any performance improvement, then save your money for fuel and tires instead...

If only driving talent was made available. I'd buy one and keep one as a spare. "I'll have the Tebo special please!"

The alloy plate above the center diff is worth while getting as the graphite plate can get some slop in where the bushings go for the brake cams etc.
