the new losi step pins look interesting.. they have the pins like prolines, but have little blocks on the edges like the blocks on crime fighters.. they feel nice and grippy in your hand, but my LHS havent had any stock of them yet, only the ones in the losi 8 kit..

we have been running them over here in the UK for a few months and the general feel is that they are generally better than the stepups for the equivilent surface. They do have a bit more grip but more importantly seem to be more consistent even if the areas of the track vary in traction.

We have a local track that has both a sandy section, then switches to hard pack dirt with good traction. I found my Bowties to work very well.

Might try the proline Mugshot, that might work good for you. Big wide bowtie lugs in the center, then the outside lugs are shorter and angled in.
