Post subject: | Stripping servo gears |
does anyone have any joy running non-metal geared steering servo's in their TQ?? i've just stripped my 3rd karbonite gear set.. I have tried the servo saver loose, medium and tight, but still keep breaking them.. I have never had a drama with the same servo in my EB4 which is a much heavier car. The servo i'm running is a Hitec 6975HB (10kg/0.10sec 60deg @ 6v).. after hunting through the hitec catalogue i couldnt find a metal gear set to fit it, so i ended up sacking the hitec, and going with a KO 8kg/0.09sec metal geared beast. |

The only time I have ever had an issue with a servo other than my end points set wrong was during a crash. When I hit the ground my wheels were still turned sideways. Now when I crash, right before I hit the ground again I try to let the wheels go straight again. The 5945 from Hitec I have in my sterring has seen 5 different buggies over the last 3 years and it's still going. |
