Hello, I run in my XB8 two different types off engine, firs is products by SIRIO and second by MAX! In each case I see the temperature is between 120-135 degrade Celsius! It is normal? TKS |

No, it is way too high a temp. for any engine. 90-100 celcius is normal operating temp. TOo high will damage the engine. |

Temp generally wont hurt them _if_ they are still being lubricated properly.. eg. not too lean. Just make sure your tuning/plug is right. My AXE LSK loves 140c all day.. its quick, revs like a mofo, still has plenty of pinch and heaps of compression and i've run about 15l of 25% nitro 9% oil (sometimes 11%) thru it. the rod has no play, either do the bearings and the piston still looks brand new. the high end motors like your RB C6's and things like that all run hot too. If you're interested in a bit of nitro 2stroke theory, check this page it.. its about plane engines, but the same principals apply... http://www.flyrc.com/articles/tune_your_engine_1.shtml |

alot tune with a temp gun when first starting. when you gain some knowledge and experience you can tune by sight and sound and also feel.. i use a temp gun now mainly in breakin and sometimes just to check my senses. LOL |

Temp guns can give you lots of info but tuning by sound and feel are best. Temp guns can give you clues if the tune is off lean or rich but you should not tune to a temp. You can tune to a temp range but if the engine feels strong and the temps stay consistant you should be ok. |
