XRAY - Model racing cars

Anyone,

Has anyone heard anything on a different set of front lower arms on the TQ to help with turning? I just did the mod to the arms and the nuckel and it helps, but while I was doing the mod, I thought why am I doing this? XRAY makes a awsome car with everything EXCEPT GOOD TURNING. So I would like to think that XRAY would come out with different arms for the XB8 and the Xb8 TQ. Are there any more mods I can do to get turning like the Kyoshos.

I can turn under any Kyosho there is . Dremel a small amount off your C-hub so your knuckle can travel "further" into the C-hub, giving you more throw. You'll need to dremel the arms some more.

It means that he used dremelled down his suspension arms.

Adam isn't mentioning that he is probably using the long soft arms from the XB8R which are thinner like the original XB8. With the super beefy XB8TQ arms you have to dremel a whole lot more to get full droop and steering throw plus more to free up the lower spring cups on the front shocks. I'd like to see some hard thick long arms that have already been made to free up these areas that require a dremel to get the most out of the car. If an option was made available I'm sure lots of XB8 owners will jump on it.

Combine it with a longer chassis and you have a winner over here in the US. Come on Mr. Hudy and XRAY, make it happen!

Like nitro said, I run the older soft arms, not the TQ arms. There isn't a need for a "longer" chassis, the prototype chassis that guys have been running is the same length as what we are running now. The center diff and engine are just pushed back about 6mm for a little more weight distribution to the rear.

Brian, the aluminum knuckles are about 1.5mm longer so they give you a little more throw.

If you really think about it, you could race the XB8 straight out of the box without any hand-fitting or modifications, and it would run fine.

However, since we are looking to take the performance of the buggy to the very edge of it's capabilities, a little modification here and there isn't all that much to ask. I know my buggy doesn't have any aftermarket parts on it to make it competitive (w/ the exception of the brake discs), but I seem to recall some buggies needed parts from three different generations to "frankenstein" one together that would be competitive.

My point being, if you want the fastest car possible, it will always require a little bit of "Re-engineering", and the XB8 requires the least amount.

I run the Avid Indos instead of the stock brake discs and that's the only aftermarket part of my car too.
