Hallo everybody, writting you shortly from the hot Jakarta. The organiser arranged free wirelless connection at press room so we have chance to upload some pictures and short reports. The first day of practice went very well for the Team XRAY. Yannick was one of the two only drivers able to achieve the 7laps pace which is a good start. In second practice Yannick changed several different stuff to test but it was not any good so we return back to what he started with. The practice time is being used to test different tires too. Jon was very fast in his first run too but had some engine tuning issue in second practice but overally looks impressively fast and considering he had no previous practice at this track it looks promissing. Josh Wheeler, the XRAY USA star, has been doing extremelly well too considering that he had no previous practice at this track neither and was turning some of the fastest lap times too, despite being placed in the lower heat. After reseating he bumped-up to the first best heat which will make it much more easier for him. Very nice suprice has been some nice racing by the local XRAY top driver Stanley who finished in the first heat 12th overall and belonged to some of the best Asian drivers. The Team XRAY drivers in the top 30 after the first day of practice: 1. Yannick Aigoin - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY France 7. Josh Wheeler - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY USA 8. Jon Hazlewood - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY UK 17. Stanley Wangsanegara - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY Indonesia 26. Markus Feldman - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY Germany 29. Robert Gustafsson - XRAY XB8 - Team XRAY Sweden The XB8 has been working from the first day very well so we will see in the qualifiers that start tomorrow at 8am already. Interesting is that European drivers generally have been doing best at this moment. In the top 10 there is 8 Europeans and 2 USA drivers. Let's see what the qualifiers will bring us tomorrow. Stay tuned and enjoy the XRAY ride. |

We have an excellent report available in the news section. Direct link is here http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/news/n ... egoria=905 The daily report features also excellent interviews with Yannick, Jon, Markus, Stanley, Sam Cheng and Josh Wheeler. Some more will be posted soon. Set-up sheets will be published shortly too. The 2nd day was good for Team XRAY, Yannick won the last qualifying heat and finished 3rd in the one previously so with another good result tomorrow a semi-final position will be secured. More about Yannick's preparation and strategy you can read in the interview. The rest of the team is doing not so bad but still a room for improvement is obvious. Jon has been still in the top 10 and Josh would be too if his servo did not break and had more luck in previous run. For more details see the report. If you want to asks any questions to any XRAY drivers, post them here and I will ask them and report here. |
