Big shout out to Brian at RC America for hooking me up with the new mill,, :wink:

Strapped it down into the chassis, Preheated to 200 deg, primed the fuel lines, about 2-3 sec on the starter box and it was idiling. Ran 2 tanks of break-in Yesterday, hope to do some more today. Sounds pretty evil with it pig rich,, cant wait to tune for race. It should rev nicely.

Just ran 4 more tanks, she's Really starting to wake up now. Just rolling on the throttle and applying as little pressure as possible,,it just wants MORE. Patience and restraint is a real B*%@# sometimes.

If this is the motor you got Rich,,I think you will be pleasantly suprised. I'm seeing that already and it isint even broke in fully.

I will be picking it up soon. I've been waiting patiently for them. I ended up getting the plus-5 but since it's being sent for service, I have a reason to grab it now.

Lotus, wait till Keith has broken it in. It really isn't possible to say anything before that.
Sounds awesome Keith, I've considered the Max power M5B engine, but I cant really get parts for them here (Denmark). Thats a minus, I could get a novarossi 21-5, but I want something new. I doesnt like to order parts for it from US every time.

OK, pics as promised. First off I want to say that I cant take good pics, partially my fault and alot of the cameras fault. Here we go.


Getting ready to pull the backplate. Pop quiz Hotshots: whats the first thing you do before the plate is pulled off, first correct answer gets a smiley face.


backplate is off, the rod looks to be worn out but it isint, just a shadow.


Nice little dust o-ring to keep contaminants from getting around the head button

Out with the old. Not to cause a panic here, but that rear brg was getting questionable. I could feel some notches/divits when rolling it with my fingers.


In with the new TKO ceramics, also shows the area that was machined to increase flow. Had another pic showing the area around the booster port that had been relieved, but the pic turned out horrible.


Back together and ready to roll. Obviously these pics dont do the motor justice, but you can see the overall modifications that were done to the motor.


New pipe and header I'm going to try. That stinger tube is nice and thick compared to some of the other RB pipes
