There are 2 ways to do this:

1) This method using gas tank posts as shims.

2) The use of sway bar collars and set screw to prevent the link from sliding back and forth.

The picture is pretty self-explanatory; you drill out a set of the rear inner pivot balls to 4mm and use the rear tie-rod ends instead of the upper A-arms. Then you take a set of gas tank posts and drill them out to 4mm as well. Cut off the little tab and then find out how much you need to sand off to make them fit. With the Euros '05 TQ front I had to sand about 1mm off one end to get the proper fit. I took off a little xtra and used a 1mm shim to give a slight bit of play. They are the same length as the stock upper A-Arms, but this mod will free up the suspension some and prevent the upper arms from splitting down the mold line due to strain. If you've got any questions feel free to ask!

(Mario or mods, possibly move this to the tips and tricks thread??)

So this was done to mainly free up the upper suspension and prevent the upper arm from splitting? Any other advantage/disadvantages to it?

Mainly to free up the suspension and prevent breakage, John. It frees up the suspension a lot :).

This also will unleash a lot of front end flex that was restricted using the standard triangular shaped upper arm. So it should be better on the ruff and tough tracks!

Nitroracer, It only binds while driving it. When you change it over you can feel a difference in the way it drives. It really frees up the front end and gives it more steering. Later

Hey Quincy, can you get the person that made your avatar to make one that says Rocco Margiotta on it?

JB, I haven't got the chance to drive my car with the mod done yet. When you say it gives better steering, do you feel it gives a more responsive feel than the stock upper arms?

more steering always gets me.... i'm totally satisfied with my steering right now but if I know about an area that can be improved I'll do it lol.

Thanks alot for the update guys! I'll definitely be giving this a shot.

i can see where this would allow for a more forgivin suspension in ruff conditions
but
wouldn't this allow for the caster to change as you are driving
i would think that this would allow the front hubs to flex back and forth
but that might not be all bad

That's the same thing i am afraid of.....TOO MUCH flex. AJ, after you test let us know how it holds up.

Anyone test this mod in race conditions yet??

JB, I'm out on Missouri

Ludachris , I've been running it for two months at three different big races with no problems . It probably does make it flex more changing the caster , But it sure does work good.
