Post subject: | XB8 TQ Build Questions |
Team Xray, I'm building my TQ @ the moment. All pieces are are comming together quite nicely. I have a few questions regarding the set up since the TQ suspension is slightly different than the original Xb8. Antisquat? The new TQ adjusts from 2-4 degrees? Is it possible to gain, 1.5 degrees? The TQ supplementary manual doesnt instruct me how to gain 1.5 degrees with the bushings provided. I noticed it didnt come with .5 bushings? Wheelbase? I noticed the wheelbase can be adjusted forward or reward on the hingpins that secure the arms on the toe blocks? What characteristices will the car have by moving the arms to the rear or front? Can I use front and rear Xray long soft arms with the TQ? Thanks in advance for your help, Brian M |

I am also wondering about the arms. The list of diff. in the tq kit call for new long arms. Are these the same arms that are available now? I will have my kit in a day or so and want to stock up on some spares. |

The arms are currently available, (352112 for the fronts, 352112 & 352122 for the right and left rear arms, respectively). Pretty much all of the parts that are in the TQ are currently available. The wheelbase will affect the weight distribution, moving them forward will result in more weight on the rear of the car and will make it feel more aggressive while moving them back will make it a little less aggressive, but will rotate a little more, making it feel smoother. The current arms (352110&1, 353110&1 and 353120&1) will fit on the TQ. |

what do you mean by gaining 1.5 degrees ?? you can use the old toe-in plates they went from 0-2 degrees of antisquat if you use the TQ antisquat plate with these original toe-in plates you should get between 1-3 degrees antisquat (the tq plate still being higher to get more antisquat, the old toe-in plate being not that low as tq kit, all in proportion, so you 'll gain half of the aded TQ antisquat) |

yep those long hard arms are pretty tough lookin' ![]() I was pretty disapointed to see that we cannot adjust the inboard toe anymore with the TQ front block. Thats an awesome tuning option on the regular XB8. Also, running 7-8 degrees of front kick up caused the drive pins on the universals to run on the arm. A little grinding with the dremel and the problem is solved. |

John B, Thanks for clearing that up. I guess the front toe block is used to adjust the kick up too. I was wondering about that but I normally run 4 degrees anyway. I built my TQ with the soft arms. The long hard arms are going on my Team Helotes conversion. I will post pics soon! |

Very nice. Good job picking up the two-piece engine mount and alum. rear hubs. They are both very nice hop ups for the XB8. |
