Having gone through the TQ box yesterday, I personally think its all there. Admittedly there are a few options that some would like to have seen included, but they are exactly that, options. For example, Yannick does not use the 5 point engine mount and rear aluminium hubs and many team drivers (Italian – Monaci, USA - Crews) do not use the aluminium steering knuckles.
I’m sure the inclusion every single part would have increased the kit retail price, which is a very critical sales point.
With the TQ kit I believe that anyone can build up a XB8 and be within at least 95% of the exact same set up and performance as the top Xray team drivers, without spending any extra money on other parts. That for me seems like good value. Ok so that 5% might cost a few £££, but your new kit is going to handle 50% better than your old car, so you quid’s in.
My understanding of "all options included" is that the kit has things that other manufacturers still consider as options. Heck, I think the kit itself is an overall option to everything else out there. I for one am glad that I do not have to use the dreaded e-clip. I'm sure everyone has experienced stabbed fingers and poke eyes from just trying to put one in. Look at the quality of the aluminum parts. Can you tell me of a company that makes their aluminum parts with such detail and craftsmanship? If they did, it would defenitely be sold as an "option". Everything in this kit has been well thought of not only for racing but the initial building of it. In the process of building the kit, I did not encounter one binding part nor did I have to pull out the dremel or sand paper. It's a personal preference if you decide to purchase other options that Xray makes. I say run with it and see if you need the other options. Other than that just have fun.
