The 3D aluminum steering plate is designed to minimize the effect of bump steer. This happens in off-road situations when the buggy is traveling through a bumpy section that upsets the the steering.

I do not see any purpose it will servo on-road. If you are looking for more steering, trying reducing your caster and moving your turnbuckles out on the ackerman arm.
