Post subject: | Steering Plate -vs- Aluminum Knuckle |
I've read it somewhere that when you use the aluminum knuckles you should use the stock steering plate with shims, and when you use the plastic knuckles, you should use the 3-d plate with shims. I am about to put on my aluminum knuckles, and i am wondering if i should leave the 3-d plate on, or put on the stock plate. Where do the shims go?? Can someone clarify this please, cause i am not sure. Thanks ![]() |

Hi Just go for the alu with the 3D plate. This is not a problem. You can shimm if you want something in between the standard and 3D plate. Regards Peter Harder |

No, there are no limitations that when you use alu steering blocks you have to use 3D steering plate and vice versa. |

I have tried both I have for the moment the alu blocks with standard plate the alu blocks steeringarms are lower and give more trow there is just still a little toeing-out appearing near the full droop lower position but my front suspension upperrod is in the outer holes at the uprights..? shouls check when in the inner hole.. so you should shim at the plate end by 1 mm to get the the most medium position of the steeringrods |

no it's the shims under the rodends at the plate ends, to get a symetric angle on the steeringrods, so no toeing-out occurs |
