I think that 'bulletproof' is maybe a little too stronger term. I am the biggest Xray XB8/XB8R fan in my part of the world so don't get me wrong as I see my feedback as being constructive as I will continue to look at Xray first for my car kitsets.

I Just found that the lack of aluminium parts was noticeable in the 'R' kit. Particularly the suspension holders, both front and rear. Its a shame to be building such a great kit with such detail like countersinking etc and then have to deal with four e-clips? Ive had a real problem with them coming off...

I would suggst that people buy the XB8 straight up. I know the difference between a XB8R and an XB8 very well now as I have pretty much transformed my XB8R into the full blown XB8 inthe course of the past month or so. I find the upgrades to be extremely great value for money when I consider the extraordinary prices that are charged by Kyosho where I come from (NZ) for spares, let alone hop ups! .Just think about whether you are going to be comitted to going racing and practising and if the answer is yes then definately get the XB8 IMO

Interestingly there are some local NZ top drivers that have reverted to using XB8R stock parts ,such as the composite front brace, in their XB8's with some success. But I still believe that you are better of with the best XB8 that you can get. It would seem that the best version should be the new TQ so thats what I would suggest actually.

Does anyone know when they will be for sale and costs etc.? Or are they for sale now?

In a word.....Yes....

Both the XB8 and XB8R have proven to be durable, long lasting buggies.

The E-clips are an issue that has existed on almost every buggy, but should only be a minor inconvenience. Put a dab of shoe goo onto your e-clips to help prevent them from sliding off.

The XB8 and now XB8TQ are remarkable values for what you get, but with the pricing of the XB8R, it's a great way for someone to get the same Xray performance, quality and reliability while still staying within a limited budget.

To know which buggy is right for you, look at the buggy and try to determine what you will be adding in the way of option parts, etc..

you may find that it will save you money to go with the TQ straight away.....you may determine that an R is what fits your budget for now....

Either way you can't go wrong 8)
