What? I can't believe so many people are saying you can't get the screws to be blue. Talk about false information.
Giorgi, as a gunsmith and years of experience in blueing firearms, you can, currently, get the materials to get them somewhat of a medium blue color. However, you would have to start with raw screws (not nickel plated, not cold-blued or charcol-blued as most black screws are now, etc.). Stainless would be a bit more difficult, as the material structure inhibits the process, depending on the type of stainless. The cost may be prohibitive because of the small run, but it is possible, even if it isn't the exact color you are looking for. The chemicals are federally regulated, especially the waste/remains, and the process can be very degrading to your health if you don't know what you're doing. The cost of the waste/remains removal (yes, the goverment has to ruin it for everyone!) made it cost prohibitive for us to continue in the blueing industry, so the equipment got sold, but at least I still do gunsmith work.
Anyways, it is possible.
