The M5 sport is actually just the M5 mod... It is just not moded. Really the only difference is the exhaust port is not ported, and it runs a standard plug in it. You will get 85-90% of the performance on the M5 moded RC America claims.(as I just talked to Bryan about this 2 days ago.. and this is what he told me exactly) So for the $125 or so more bucks for the M5 mod may not be worth it to you. But the "sport" engine is not for bashing, it is still a race engine.
It will last just as long as the M5 mod does basicly. Depending on how you use/maintain it should last about 7 gallons normal. I'v heard a guy running a 9 gallon M5, so I guess it is possible.
If you are on a budget I would just get the "sport" M5. If you want to spend the extra $100 then go ahead. It is your choice there really.
