Post subject: | XB808 Questions to spare parts for diff |
Hi all, I bought a used XB808 and I wanted to fix my front diff. For this I wanted to order pinion gear 355111. But this part was replaced by 355113. So I ordered this one and the aluminium collar 352077. But the collar is bigger than the ball bearings and it doesn't fit into the diff housing. What did I wrong? |

I know this is a late reply, but if you are still using your 808 and continue to have problems, I eliminated this problem once and for all on the 808 (2008-2010) here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12537 The official solution (adding another bearing) sucked as much as the original design, the only proper fix is to use a pinion with a smaller (conventional) shaft so that a much more durable bearing with larger balls can be used. They obviously rectified this from 2011-onwards by going back to the conventional design, but the 808 was a strong car apart from this problem. Mine's still going on the same diffs, 5S brushless converted. |

Replacing the diff may work yet the diff is made of delicate metal, and the adapting is messy, so you might need to purchase another or two. My diff went out part of the way through the second battery. I opened it up, and the angle gears had eaten one another. I briefly settled it by locking the diff and making it Positraction, yet Being resigned, I chose to tinker, and with the new diff, I put .020 spacers behind the two angle outfits that turn out when you first open it up. ________________________________ |
