Dynamite (Horizon Hobbies) makes this awesome piston locking tool, it cradles the connecting rod at BDC and puts no stress or wear on any of the internals (it's made of Delrin). The drawback is you have to take the back plate off everytime. Here's the tool: And combined with one of my favorite Hudy tools: Pretty simple, and great for my "peace of mind" knowing the flywheel nit won't loosen during a long race. I never liked the channel lock method or the flywheel holder tools because they either gouge the flywheel or possibly bend the clutch shoe pins. |
