Post subject: | Your VISION of a BUGGY |
Guys what do you think will a buggy look like, be made of, differ from the ones today, ... in your opinion in the future (say maybe 2015)? i think the aluminium will be replaced by carbon quite soon: the damperstays, the chassis, maybe also the arms... i could also imagine that the engines will have a different shape and through this ther will be found a solution to place the engine more into the middle. the servos and the batteries will become much smaller by same strength. through this there will be more place on the buggy, so the tank can be made more flat but bigger, for a lower center of gravity. thats my dreaming - what are your phantasies?[/b] |

...hope there will be an electronic injection for engines.....that would be a great improvment.... |

pivot balls system.... it is harder to design and get right but when done properly it IS much stronger than c-hub. |

ew pbs i think i'll skip that, the balls get stiff and jam and are a fart on 2 fit |

Someone must invent some very effective cooling system before carbonfiber chassis becomes "a must have" -thing. Someone should make a car that would never break. ![]() |

I think chassis should be milled out off 12 mm T6 aluminium plate with the torquerods machined out/sticking out = better cooling, no separate torquerods, better chassis stiffness you can also just screw the motormount to the chassis' rear incorporated torquerod from the side and have a very narrow chassis made up |

I would like to see "real" shocks ;pneumatic tires; and maybe tube frame construction. Guess I'm going to have to mortage my house for that one.LOL! |

PBS - C hub =Apples - Oranges. Both systems are good in certain applications but I personally prefer the C hub design for off road and PBS for on road. Back to the original question. I forsee throttle body injection with tps sensors (throttle position sensor) for proper calculation of air fuel mixture in conjunction with an exhaust tepm probe controlled by a micro computer on board in the radio box. The 1/8th cars will eventually utilize ultra light magnesium brake calipers in the center diff in conjunction with hydrolic brakes powered by smaller more powerfull servos. The suspension will start going towards inboard suspension which the Revo has touched on proving that it is reliable and can be light as well as aerodynamic. More carbon fiber molded pieces will make their way into the cars , flat CF will fade out or have limited uses in prespective to molded or formed pieces. Tires will be made from stickier compounds while lasting longer and it will all probably cost more. These options will probably be on high end cars but hey I am driving the top of the line car now so what the hell I can dream. |

PBS is a cheap option for the manufacturers and is just a compromise between performance and cost. If you want the best geometry and steering choose c hub if you are happy with a compromise choose PBS ![]() |
