I purchased an Xray XB9/13 over a month ago ready for a state title event, when unpacking the kit and building the car I ran into an issue with one of my rear shock bodies, it had a chunk missing from the top of the shock where the threads end and the cap gets installed, I believe its a machining issue. I took photo's of the issue and emailed it to the Australian Xray distributor with the packers details followed by a phone call the next day explaining the issue and also the need to build the shock, It was a case of needing to build this shock to be able to run the 4 day event that was on the following weekend, so i had to force the cap thread across the rough section at the top of the shock and continue to force the caps thread all the way down while bleeding the shock so that I could run the buggy at this event and not loose the money all ready invested for this interstate event, I had also all ready sold my Serpent buggy as the shift to the Xray brand for 1/8th buggy, 1/8th truggy & 4wd 1/10th buggy was a plained move. My main concern is that its been a month and still not a word regarding the warranty replacement, as explained to the distributor im sure that the shock body, shock cap and bladder are all going to need to be replaced after forcing the cap on to be able to run the event, I understand that I damaged the cap and bladder fitting them over the damaged shock body but now a month later im really concerned that had i not force fitted the cap i would be sitting here with a $600 buggy kit that could not have been completed and really turned off and lost complete interest in the Xray brand, that being said ive run the car three times and really like the way it feels. I cant change the shock fluid as im afraid that the bladder is torn, threads on the shock body and cap are all but screwed up too, what is the usual time frame for warranty claims with xray products ??? I dont really want to purchase the truggy and xb4 buggy as planed if the time frame for warranty issues is going to be so long each and every time there is an issue, I hope that some one from Xray can explain the process to me regarding warranties. I know the pics are not that clear but the missing piece of metal is right where the thread ends on the shock body The car drives amazingly and cant wait till i can dial in the shock set up to get the best from the car, Savage Sam |
