I was bashing my XT8 - 09 all weekend and had several hard landing directly on the wing. I pulled the screws out of the lower mounts in the plastic bulkheads and through the CF shock tower. I bent the upper bolts but they didn't break; at least right away. I installed longer lower bolts that extended out past the bulkhead on the engine side and installed lock nuts. That worked for most of the rest of the weekend. However, a few more hard landings on the wing mount and it finally broke all 4 bolts in half but did not damage the shock tower. I have also bent my rear composite chassis brace but not the chassis.
All in all still a GREAT weekend of running this awesome machine! The good news is that, after 3 gallons, my RB WS9 is finally broken in and runs absolutely spectacularly.
I have owned this rig since July of 2009. This will be the first time the truck has broken, or that I have had to disassemble it in any way since first final assembly. It has not been raced actively or even bashed actively. Just that when I DO bash it, I DO bash it!
