Post subject:  differentials for tarmac on XB8ec with slicks tires

Hi,

I'm looking adjustments for my buggy for tarmac. I have now standard diffs with 150k/150k/50k oils starting from front. The car turnability is very poor. What kind of oils are suitable for tarmac with standard diffs and slicks tires? Also the front tires are slipping heavily and getting balloon size. I think some locking diffs are the best ones, torsen or similar active diffs. I could found only active diff for front, but not in the middle from xray. Is the XB808 middle active diff suitable for the XB8EC as well? Any others?

Any setup sheets for this car for tarmac?

Thanks,
Topi Huurros

Hello Topi

I would say your diffs are too thick. It's good to have thick diffs on tarmac, but not as muchas you have! That's propably the problem why you have no steering. I would say 50k 50k 20k would be a good start. Also, can't you get any road tires and not off road tires? They will give you more grip for sure! Active diff for center 808 fits 808e, same as front. It will give you a lot more steering on power. Also, the 5 degrees kingpin steering blocks will help on power steering and give you more stability.

Regards
Reno
