I am almost finished with a conversion I plan to offer for the XRay 808 to convert it to a ROAR legal 1/10 Short Course Truck. Being tired of the constant maintenance issues of the current offerings from the other companies I set out to build the ultimate, legal SCT. What better car to base it from than the 808. The truck can be converted from an '09, '10 or '11. The pictures below are of an '11 conversion. While the pictures show a modified rear 808 arm, the kit uses custom arms to help bring the width into ROAR legal specs. More information is coming soon. I wanted to share the truck with my fellow XRay people. We have been testing / racing the truck over the past several months with excellent results. First big race out two of the trucks made the top 10 at the JConcepts Southern Nationals, one of them being in the top 5 piloted by Kurt Kellum and finished 4th overall. We do have more races planned to attend before the end of 2011 such as the JConcepts Clash in Florida and the Texas Off Road Shootout in Carrollton, Tx. Here are the pics, more information coming soon. If you would like to email me direct about the project please feel free. wesbrown@outfrontframes.com |

Just wondering how the kit was coming along any news, And will this kit suit any of the 808 platforms or a specific model like the 2010 model or will it fit the original 808 to the 2011 spec.... |

Yes sir. any of the modern XRay buggies can be converted. As for the wheels, the truck uses 1/10 scale wheels and tires. The only difference is the hex is 17mm rather than 12mm. DE racing makes these wheels and are readily available. We are finalizing the release documentation this week. So be on the look out! Thanks! Wes Brown OutFrontFrames / WBD |

Any news on this conversion? Also, for a motor, I already have a Tekin 4.5T Short Course Motor that was bound for a 4X4Slash. News of this kit has that project on hold. My question is, if I buy one of your conversion kits will this Tekin motor have enough ass to push it around the track or should I trade it up for the 8th scale T-8 motor? |
