Hi all, i recently picked up a lightly used XT8 Roller pre 2009 spec. My plan is to convert to brushless as i have a Castle MMM 2200kv combo sitting here from an older Revo conversion i did. I was looking at the RC-Monster conversion kit and see that that is a unanimous choice for doing this conversion. BUT it is for the 2009 spec, is there anything else i need to buy at the same time to do that swap? Can i do that swap with the original XT8? Any other upgrades i "should" do at the same time? |

Got the RCM question figured out, just need to buy the 2009 spec Center drive shafts and the rest is bolt up. Come on payday! lol |

Project is now a go, decided to unload some other trucks to fund it. When making the swap to electric, (ill be using a Castle MMM 2200kv) where should i start as far as gearing? Stock xt8 spec is 13/48 if im reading the manual properly. Coming from Traxxas Revo's i know the gearing is different between the 3.3 Revo and the E-revo. Just curious what any of you would have or do use as a starting point on the e-version for those of you who have done the swap. |

Good work Monteman. I see you're getting as much of a response from these guys as I did on my query a while back. ![]() I have an 09 Spec XT8 and am seriously considering making the conversion. I already have a Tekin RX8 ESC and a new motor tradeable for one that would be appropriate for the truggy. That said, I'd be interested to know what batteries you plan on using and also if you found out the gearing solution. |

What size battery you will need and the gearing all depends on what size motor you get and batteries you can spend $60 or $260 one depends on what brand and size you want to use |
