You have either the TQ or EC, from the pictures its hard to tell the differences as the changes where subtle. Obvious things ec wishbones where thicker but could be changed to the thinner tq ones chassis braces again ec where thicker type EC had 14mm shock pistons |

xb8, xbr and xbTQ share the same chassis and has the engine mounts more to the front so look at the chassi below the 2 rear holes for the brace, should be at equal distances, both some 3 mm, in front and behind the holes of the enginemount if they are located more to the end, it's a EC.. |

that's a xb EC chassis the holes off the enginemount are more to the rear this is a xb8/r/TQ chassis you notice the holes of the brace are spaced equaly next to the ones of the enginemount.. |

it's the same as the xb/TQ it isalready the most reliable buggy that's ever been, tough and unbreakable the EC just has more weight to the rear, so it will have a bit less steering I guess the TQ performs a bit better |

Depends on the type of track you run at (your profile doesn't have a location) as to whether you'd prefer the balance of the TQ or EC - my first Xray buggy was an EC and as already said, they're pretty much bulletproof! Great 1st buggy to learn with as you can crash them all day and it'll still finish the race. As to what needs doing, it depends on what the condition of the buggy is overall - all driveshaft pins and diff outdrives that they sit in will wear over time and use. You can replace the pins which cuts down on wear. The rings and pinions on the diffs are very robust so long as they're shimmed right. I'd download a copy of the manual off the main Xray site, if you don't have one, and spend some time getting to know how the buggy is put together. Replace the diff and shock oils so you know what's in there, follow one of the setups on here as a starter for 10 based on the track you will be running it at. That's it really ![]() |
