Hi all, Just a question on the make up of 808 front and rear arms. Because our temprature here in Queensland Australia is generally always around 30 deg cels it tends to keep the plastics soft in the arms etc.., i can only get a couple of race meets from the arms before they warp and become unusable, but also because they are so soft they tend to make the car inconsistant with the geometry always changing,is there anything that can be done to rectify this. Not complaining just woundering, awsome car and reliability, ive run Xray since the first TQ hit our shores. Cheers Gavin. |

Just my little input: I also get some warped arms from time to time in varying temperatures. I think it mostly comes from shocks and crashes (where other brands will break) and just replace them from time to time. But then again it only gets 30°C here in the middle of summer. At the Euros I've seen drivers (among them Martin and Juraj Hudy) cut the a-arm crossbeams so they are even softer, so I don't think the car suffers from them being soft, quite the opposite in fact. Don't worry about the geometry, if you watch a slow-motion video of the cars going through bumps and jumps you'll see how everything is twisted around and it helps the car's handling by keeping the wheels on the ground. Remember how hard the old XB8-TQ-EC arms were and how much better it handled with softer arms? G'day mate! |
