Yes, Tekin guys have said to use the Slipperential to avoid rotor problems but isn't it a bit... wrong way to address the problem?! I'd buy a new motor for the Slipperential money instead.

Mine is a new one. It was a 20 minute main geared 15/42, 1400kv on 6S. Happened at the 19 minute mark. Ran fine for the 6 minute qualifiers, but the main must have been abit too hard on it. I'll be getting some smaller pinions to try out as well.

I'd have to agree with the Tekin guys, its pretty hard on the motor landing big jumps with direct drive. I guess why I haven't jumped in is I'd like to know what Xray intend doing with the 808E. If I spend the $$ on a Slippernential, I don't want it to be a waste if something is fitted on the 808E similar, but then I may hold off abit longer buying the new car if I bought the slipper now.

I have been running the slipperential in both my buggy and truggy for some time now. I have had no issues with rotors on any motor since I started using them. Just as a note I have been running electric 1/8 for years now using airplane controlers and motors and modified 1/10 stuff before there were any 1/8 intended systems even available. I have broken rotors on a few different brands of motors, not just tekin. The slipper definitly does help reduce the high stress put on the drivetrain in certain situations and in my opionion is worth it just for this purpose. But... I actually have found that I really love it as a tuning aid. Being able to dial a little slip into the system really helps me with consistency exiting corners when you are comming out hard on the throttle. Especially when you get to bumpy or slick track surfaces. It's less of an issue on high bite tracks with alot of traction, but I think it still helps some and it does more work with the drivetrain/motor protection on high traction.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'm now trying to decide if I buy the slipper and then not buy the 808E when it comes out, although my 808 was in the first batch from the factory, so is coming up 2 years old, or wait till Feb and see what Xray show at the Hobby show, which hopefully has a slipper and upgrade cars. Sounds like a must have option to me.

I need a crystal ball............ Surely someone from Xray can confirm if the 808E will have a slipper or not??
