Suggest to XRAY which XB8 / XT8 Option Parts you wish?

Hi Mario.

Here's an idea for an option part for the XB8:

The Serpent starter boxes are widely used, because they work perfectly and are compact in size.

When you buy a Serpent car, there are brackets included to mount on the starter box to make it fit your car perfectly for fast use.

Would be very nice to be able to fit the XB8 like this on the starter box :shock:

The only real problem I have with a carbon chassis is that by lightening the lowest thing on the car you are actually raising the center of gravity of the car, thereby changing the overall balance of the car.

I think my XB8 is just fine the way it is so I cannot make a suggestion for any hop-ups other than exotic metal parts which I will leave for the aftermarket.

Just Built it and Put in a Picco .21 P3 Pull start and run it over the park WOW!!!

Couple of issues:-

The Engine Mounts dont take a Pull Start Engine so Some "Pull Start Engine Mounts" would be a Idea not every body has a Grinding Wheel.

Just Broke it over the Park the "composite frame shock parts #358010" made in plastic would be very nice if it was Ali or Sprung steel would be better. it wasnt even a bad roll over, thanks mario.

as an engineer i tend to be fairly pragmatic.

with the short amount of time my wife and i have had with the car there is very little that i would change, but here is my list.

1 stronger turnbuckles

2 modified front c-hub/a-arm to allow more droop

3 a better engineered downtravel limiter (the screw wears a hole in the chassis and droop setting is not consistent)

also, the problem of chassis flex in the area of the clutch bell. i was not involved with the development of the car, but in my experience it seems that the extended rear chassis brace only makes the chassis flex worse. the stress concentration created by the abrupt change in cross sectional moment of inertia causes a greater amount of flex in a smaller area. were shorter rear chassis braces tested during the development stages? i don't want to destroy one of the braces that i purchased to see if a shorter one would help keep the clutch bell from contacting the chassis as much if it has already been tried.
