The hump pack recvr packs that you install in the radio box on the recvr side (as opposed to the standard way of installing on the battery side) -

It would be the 2nd way in your post... I have the Helotes 2600 mah in there with no problems

I think giving up the ON/OFF switch and charge jack gives out a lot of space. I use 2/3A cells and Spectrum Futaba HRS rx, here is what I do, simply make 2x 3mm holes and a harness going out from receiver:

Oh, and under wet conditions, I can just use silicone or Fender Mender to seal edges and holes.

I have a battery, spektrum rx, telemetry rx, Y cable, all the sensors, switch and a charge jack fitting in mine. I think the box is great.

my gs sut box I had to make an L shaped battery to fit. all the servo wires and such are all tucked in the box on the xb8r. it's a tight fit but at least stuff is protected and I have faom in there as well.

used double sided servo tape and laid it down and top covers for the foam to stick, and used silicone to seal hole.

I have two wires going thru the hole right now, but I will eventually get a transponder etc.. i'm sure it's a tight fit with extra wires. most likely dremel a bigger hole radius and use a rubber grommet cut in half and run the wires in and reseal will do the trick.

i use the KO propo electronic switch never have to worry about it getting turned off. but that is some nice arranging
