Moving the regulator to on top of the battery lid making slotted holes in the front and rear of the receiver box lid sorted the problem out. But the race was 20 min with 5 min practice.

I will get some of that heat foil tape to ensure it makes it through 50mins.

Yesterday with about +27C one guy had the receiver die on him during a race. After re-binding it worked again, it was the Futaba on Hobao car. Haven't yet heard from him about the final diagnose but I think its the same problem. I think I have to wait before ordering the RX for myself, I do have the FASST module for 3PK already. Maybe new 604 receiver is fixed and I should get that one...

Maybe someone could make a test on the 603 Rx... warm it up and test it, how it works and when it does not. +50 or +60 degrees Celsius will not hurt any components of RX I think and +50C is often the temp of radiobox. Yesterday I had +45C in radiobox. Its the heat from engine through engine mounts and chassis plate.

Yep I had the same issue with my Fasst system, and It happened again in my 20 main at last weeks US Buggy Nationals. 5 days of racing all waisted.... thanks Futaba. :? At 19 minutes down it just fail-safed on me. I took out my Lipo after the first couple times it happened, but it did the same with NiMi anyway. I was turn marshaling Josh Wheelers race and saw his car go fail safe also.
:( bummer because he was on a good run too.

They need some of the team guys to call and complain continuously to force Futaba to repair the issue and offer a free exchange, like Spektrum did when they had problems. Us regular guys have no pull and now we all have a $200.00 piece of equipment that doesn't work. Help!

I was having same issues with runaways. the temps were 140 when they occured. I took out the radio and bench tested the reciever. I plugged it in and put my temp gun on it while using a heat gun from a distance, once the reciever hit 138 boom red light and when it cooled it came back. took all extra foam out of box and thermal taped my reciever and radio box towards motor. i think with the thin battery compartment and the thin spacing of the new 808 the overheating problem arrises. I also run the fasst in my mugen with mbx5t with no issues. both recievers are from old batches and neither ever had this problem before. I think the vent holes will help as well.

also i strongly believe with our motors hitting 270ish and the box so close-closer than others-it will heat and thermal quicker. just my .02
