They say "packing" of the shocks is caused by turbulance in the oil flowing through or around the shock piston and holes. When there is enough turbulance....the piston sort of locks up or "packs".

I have not felt any evidence of this happening in trying different weight oils and different size holes. But, maybe you need more holes to create more turbulance to "pack" the shocks off the big jumps.

This would be a benefit since you could have free flowing shocks on small stuff and a "pack" to prevent bottoming out on big landings and sharp high speed ruts ect.

Keep us posted if you really notice a big difference in pack when there are more holes and or thinner or thicker oils
