how many did the steering/dremel mod for more throw??

Here are the pics of my dirty car. Sorry for the cuts not being clean, it was late and I just wanted to get done! The bottom pic is of the end result!

How would more throw not translate into more steering (within reason)?

Hi Rocco,

I saw Your picture and I'm interested to know if You ever check the maximum steering angle degree with HUDY set-up?

I did some steering mod myself to get more travel but I didn't make as much as Your's.. Rocco, is the driveshaft working alright with that steep steering angle? I did mine to get maximum angle before the driveshaft got a "lock" feeling at the joints. And I also notice that the CVD has more "effective" angle than the Universal's..

I was going to say the same thing. Do the universals bind?
or are you running CVDs.

No bind at the extent of the servo travel... If I force the wheel over to as far as it can go, then there is a spot where the universal won't allow such an angle...

I haven't put it on the setup system.

Well I just dremmeled the HECK out of my arms for full droop clearance. Since I have a showbox FULL of brand new arms I can afford to experiment!

The throw is pretty wicked now and low speed steering is very tight. Can't wait to try it on the track. I hope the arms will still be strong enough to take the big jumps and bumps. I guess we'll find out!

Has anyone gotten a broken A arm yet (as a result of dremeling) ?

I did the added throw as well, alum. knuckles and love it. All the throw I need. I've had turns I've just cut too close (high speed sweepers) and havern't broken the car yet!

In fact, I've yet to break my TQ!!!

I would rephrase, has anyone actually ever seen a broken XRay suspension arm?
I've seen an XB8 run off and hit a post at full throttle, the arm was torn out of the hinge pin holders, hinge pin broken, upper camber link broken, upper and lower arms were fine.

I have broken turnbuckles (during the winter), but still run the same XB8 standard arm w/ mods.
